Product Description
We have been selling futon mattresses from our retail location for over 20 years. Recent increases in the price of polyurethane foam has made it a challenge to find affordably priced options amongst the futon mattress products available in today's market. This is why we are so excited about this revolutionary new product. AIRLAY FIBRE FOAM CORE - Unlike conventional futon mattresses ours has a patented Airlay fibre-foam core which helps the futon spring back to life and retain its shape without using costly polyurethane foam. This newly developed product is made with a blend of cotton, polyester and low-melt fibers thermally bonded to produce a density of 2.8 lbs with longevity twice that of standard foam. NATURAL COTTON BATTING - The foam core is wrapped in multiple layers of pure cotton batting which gives the futon a soft natural feel. The cotton contains a small amount of non-toxic substance (boric acid) as a fire retardant, complying with California's strict safety requirements. The mattress is tufted to give it a "pillowed' appearance and help the futon retain its shape. ***IMPORTANT NOTICE: We consider this futon mattress to be an excellent choice for use as an everyday sofa and for occasional sleeping. the mattress is a good value for the money i got one for each of my kids. they both love the comfort of the mattress ... i have personally tested out the comfort of it and was very surprised at its delivery of comfort. cant complain much at all. the only thing that was a little annoying but i guessi can understand is taking it out of the box. a bit tight of a squeeze and the plastic wrap is a pain because you dont want to cut it off for fear of ruining the mattress you have to peal it like a banana.

This mattress looks GREAT on my futon! It is so comfy and my futon looks like a real couch now. Just be careful when you lift it because it is very heavy. You probably need two people to lift it, even though I did it myself.

I bought this as a mattress more than a futon and I think that was a mistake. It's serviceable, but a little lumpy and not that comfortable. In fairness to the product, I didn't buy it for a futon couch, and for that purpose, it might be better than average. It's thicker than an average futon, and more comfortable than my 3-4 inch futon that I've had for a number of years.I think the 8 inches is a slight exaggeration - looks more like 6.5 - 7 to me, but that's probably standard for mattress measurements. Overall, for a folding futon couch, this might be a good purchase. As a bed, I'd pay more and get a real mattress unless you're able to sleep on anything.
