Excellent product. There are variations in the design of this rocker. More detailed descriptions should appear to avoid ordering mistakes. It seems durable. I will likely update review in a year.

I've been short a chair in the living room for a while now and I knew I wanted some sort of recliner / glider. My friend pointed me towards the Dutailier brand and after a little research I saw that in the glider world, they were pretty well rated. I was lucky enough to catch this recliner when it was on sale so I pushed the "buy" button.When it was delivered, construction was very easy. Just a couple of screws here and there - even the most novice home furniture builder can put this chair together in less than twenty minutes. Also, no "chemical smell" that I usually associate with new furniture, so that was a plus.One of my biggest concerns with this chair was that I could not find a published weight limit for it. I had found some websites that said that 250 was a limit, but I couldn't find anything concrete. So I would say that if you're a person who's over the 250 mark (I am not, so I could not test), it might be worth testing this out in a store before buying. When I sat in the chair it felt stable, but the entire "skeletal system" of the chair is wood with no metal reinforcement, so I still get a little jittery.Another concern is that most of the models offered by Amazon are of the open swing system - in other words, the glider mechanism under the chair itself is uncovered. When you're actually gliding back and forth, these pieces scissor along each other. If you have small animals (or even children) that like to hide or slide up next to chairs, this may be a safety consideration (think of a rocking chair rolling over your foot).Ok, the bad and safety items out of the way.I found that the chair's motion was very nice. I got this model which did not come with the ottoman - I would highly recommend grabbing the ottoman, it's not a true "recliner" so it doesn't have one built in. And swinging back and forth with your legs on the ground just doesn't seem as comfy. The reclining wasn't quite as smooth as with a metal-system recliner chair - it definitely felt like you had to do a little pushing in order to get the reclining system into gear. This might change with time, but right now it's a dice toss on whether or not the chair has engaged in a reclined position and is stable. The cushions themselves are comfy - so far no "rear indentation", but I do see that Dutailier offers replacement cushions, so I'm guessing that these might breakdown after a few years.Would I get it again? I'm not sure - while the motion of the chair is nice, I think that a traditional one-piece recliner/glider is more comfortable. Unfortunately the price of a good recliner/glider is usually quite a bit more than what these Dutailier's are priced at. So at the price point, these aren't bad and if the sub-five hundred dollar mark was the limitations of my budget, I'd probably be ok with getting another one of these. Otherwise, I'd probably save up for a traditional recliner instead.

Just received this awesome glider as a surprise gift for my wife, and she's already in love with it. Dutailier is known for their well-made nursery gliders, and this one is no exception. Assembly was very simple, as all you need is a screwdriver to secure the base to the chair. The glider is very smooth, without any sort of clicking that you might feel when sitting in a lesser quality glider. The cushions are incredibly soft to the touch, as well as very comfortable. I do appreciate that the cushions are reversible, so we'll be able to rotate them to wear them out evenly. While some folks might prefer having an ottoman, neither of us see the value in having to need our feet propped up. This glider is so comfortable that you'll forget what the word ottoman means. Besides, why not save some cash and much needed space in your nursery?All in all, a great purchase and perfect addition to any nursery, whether it's for breastfeeding or reading stories to little ones.
